Raw EEG

After connecting a Neuphony EEG device with the Desktop App, the first screen visualized is the Raw EEG. Here you can visualize Raw EEG data being captured by the device. On the main screen, the amplitude of the raw EEG signals captured by the connected signals are in microvolts (μV) over time.

To configure view options, select the ‘Settings’ icon on the top-right of the window. Under these settings we can configure Graph Settings, Sensor Connectivity and Experiment Controls.

Graph Settings

Here you can set up the amplitude scale and the time scale for the viewer.

We recommend the following settings for an efficient reading of EEG. Amplitude Scale: 100 Time Scale: 10

You can also select the sensors that you’d like to view or hide in the Raw EEG visualizer. We recommend hiding the sensors that are not connected to further reduce noise from them.

Sensor Connectivity

Here you can view the sensors that are either connected or disconnected on the scalp. The desktop app follows a standard threshold of impedance to show if they are connected.

Experiment Controls

This option lets us create new tasks and breaks inside a session. The data for these graphs are separated when reports are created. Individuals can choose ‘Next Task’ option when they are performing a different activity to capture contrasting data. The minimum time limit for a single task or break is 60 seconds.
